About us

Meet the Founder

Hi, I’m Liam!

Community isn’t just something I care about  It’s something I live and breathe

I am 32 years old and moved to Chicago nearly five years ago from Israel. When I first arrived, I quickly realized how deeply people longed for community, familiarity, and meaningful connections. Being far from home is not easy, and I felt that if I could create spaces where people could come together, share meals, and celebrate traditions, it would give them not just comfort but also strength.

That’s why I began organizing Shabbat dinners and holiday gatherings in Chicago. These meals were more than just food – they became a safe place where people felt seen, connected, and proud of who they are. Through these gatherings, I discovered my true passion: building community, creating visibility, and giving people a sense of belonging.

After October 7th, this sense of community became even more vital. The tragedy in Israel deeply affected every one of us in the diaspora. People felt vulnerable, isolated, and often targeted with hostility. In that moment, the Shabbat table became more than a tradition – it became a lifeline. Families, students, and business owners sat together, shared stories, comforted one another, and found strength in being together. It reminded us that community is not a luxury, it is survival. Out of pain, we grew even closer, with a renewed determination to support each other and to stand proudly as Jews and Israelis in Chicago and beyond.

Out of that same passion, I created JewConnect. I wanted to take the feeling of connection from the Shabbat table and expand it into a platform where Jewish and Israeli-owned businesses could gain visibility, opportunities, and support. JewConnect is not just about business – it is about resilience, pride, and the belief that when we stand together, we are stronger.

My vision is to make sure no one in our community feels invisible. Whether it is a small family business, a young professional starting out, or an established company, they all deserve to be seen, supported, and celebrated. For me, this is not only a project, it is a mission.

Together, we can:

Find each other.

Amplify what matters.

And grow stronger, as one community.

Thank you / תודה
