SHALVA
Be Heard. Feel Supported. Find Peace.
It’s devastating to realize that a person you once trusted would manipulate, control or harm you not once, but over and over again. No matter your situation,
we’re here to help you sort through your options to find the life that you deserve. At SHALVA, we are experts in Jewish relationships and abuse.
SHALVA is the oldest independent, Jewish domestic abuse agency in the United States. SHALVA carries out its mission by providing counseling, supportive services and community education. Since 1986 we have worked to break the cycle of abuse by giving survivors the support they need and educating the community about intimate partner abuse.
SHALVA is an Illinois not-for-profit 501(c)3 and certified by the State of Illinois to provide domestic violence counseling. All SHALVA therapists are Illinois-Certified Domestic Violence Professionals (ICDVP) and are Certified Clinical Trauma Professionals (CCTP). SHALVA is sensitive to the unique religious and cultural issues many Jewish families face while also addressing the universal needs all abuse survivors must face.

Their services include personalized case management, financial counseling, employment support, mental health programs, kosher food assistance, free health clinics and pharmacy access, housing solutions, and spiritual enrichment activities.

🧭 Personalized guidance, expert answers, and dedicated knowledge-sharing groups
Because when you have both a community and professionals by your side — relocation feels much more secure.
Join us and make your relocation journey clearer, safer, and more aligned with your goals.
Why did I start this club?
My name is Rona Slutzker-Melovan, and I’ve been living abroad with my family for over a decade.
I was searching for a place that truly feels like home — and offers real, professional answers to all the questions and challenges along the way.
A place that understands exactly what we’re going through — the homesickness, the uncertainties, the need for real connections.
This club was born from my own personal need — and grew into a global community that’s here to support you at every step of your relocation journey.

Gratitude Generation
About Us:
At the core of what we do is the belief that making positive changes in the world starts with our kids. We’re on a mission to create more grateful, happy, healthy children who will grow into contributing adults and improve the lives of people around them.
We also believe that when kids practice gratitude, and experience what it means to help others, it instills the practice of giving and builds strong values. That’s why g2 programs are built around hands-on community service opportunities for volunteers of all ages.
Our mission:
To instill gratitude in future generations through education and service.

Furever Home Dog Sanctuary
About Us – Furever Home Dog Sanctuary
I’m David Kerpel — a former attorney turned dog sanctuary founder. My love for dogs began in childhood, even though I couldn’t have one due to family allergies. I always knew that one day, I’d do something to help dogs who had no one else.
Unlike traditional shelters, our sanctuary is dedicated to giving senior, sick, or “unadoptable” dogs a second chance at life — outside the confines of a cage. Inspired by a visit to a Texas sanctuary in 2021, and a heartbreaking encounter with starving dogs abroad, I knew I couldn’t wait until retirement. In early 2022, Furever Home Dog Sanctuary was born.
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, run 100% by passionate volunteers. Every donation helps provide dogs with safe enclosures, food, medicine, toys, and love — creating a true forever home.
🐾 Forever Safe. Forever Loved. Furever Home.
